Thanks to all who came to July's Matchbox Story Social and made it so sweet! Now for something different - this month we will be making pom pom, bead and tassel hangers. I'm not sure if hangers is the right word but I couldn't think what else they'd be called - photos to follow, and then you'll get what I mean. They're lush tho! For more info scroll down to the second half of description! xx

Toastie time!

Fortyfive are keeping their kitchen open from 6:30-7:30pm so you don’t have to rush to eat before you leave the house! A few of us plan to meet before the session starts at 6:30pm and get toasties! Join us pre-session, or get one when you arrive at the session if you like! Other than that, the usual drinks and cakes etc will be on sale of course!

Come along on the third Monday of the month 7-9pm for an evening of have-a-go crafts, a brew and a chat.

Each month we will bring a new craft to learn for a fiver, but you are welcome to come along and bring your own art/craft projects instead, (we ask for a £3 donation for this if you can spare it, but come and get involved anyway if you can't).

All ages and abilities very welcome, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult unless pre-arranged. You don't have to be an experienced artist or crafter, just come along and get making!

For those who haven't been before, Fortyfive Vinyl Cafe is a lovely place on Micklegate near where it meets Rougier Street (would it help if I said it was near Popworld?!) and serves good coffee, cake, other hot drinks and alcohol... with vegan and gluten free options too.

AUGUST CRAFTY SOCIAL DETAILS!

This month the social is on Monday 19th August, 7-9pm.

The have a go craft this month is pom pom, bead and tassel hangers - until someone suggests a better name for them.

It's a case of making a pom pom or two (or three?!), making a tassel, picking up some beads, and stringing them all together to make a beautiful boho item that can serve all kinds of purposes - I would list them but they would all be made up and pointless as essentially this is just a pretty thing that you hang up and think about how nice it is when you see it.

Pom pom makers are at the ready - for those who haven't delved into the depths of modern pom pom making yet, this will be a particularly thrilling evening for you.

If you don't fancy the tassel hangers, you are welcome to join us with your own craft project! Non-crafters are most welcome to just join for the cuppa and company, although we will definitely try to tempt you into getting crafty at some point.

A fiver for the have a go craft, or if you are coming with your own project/ just coming for the social, we ask for a £3 donation if you can spare it - but come along anyway if you can't.

Bring your friends, make new friends, but most of all Keep it Crafty!!!
