Details
Izzie yardley is a singer/songwriter whose debut self-produced singles were released in the 2020 lockdown, to great acclaim. Rooted in british songwriting traditions of the 60s/70s coffee house scene, of which John Martyn, Paul Simon and Bert Jansch were a part, Izzie’s songs tell stories woven into musically rich pieces, which nod to a childhood spent listening to classical, jazz, Nick Drake and Kate Bush. Live, this becomes a performance that is both bold and powerfully vulnerable.
Her publicly-funded debut EP 'Imposter' was recorded with producer Dom Monks (Big Thief, Billie Marten), Ethan Johns (Ray Lamontagne, Crosby, Stills & Nash) and Nick Pini (Laura Marling, Nick Mulvey). It is released 29th June 2023 on Karousel Buried Treasure/AWAL.
Recently she has received support from PRS Foundation and Help Musicians, played festivals including the Great Escape, Glastonbury and Black Deer, and supported Matt Deighton, Beans on Toast, Ida Mae, Sam Brookes.
As well as writing her own material she also works as a session vocalist for contemporary artists as well as TV/film composers. Recent clients have included Sir Tom Jones, Freddie & The Scenarios (The Vaccines), and Colin Towns.
