Q: Where are you based?​

Our address is 29 Micklegate, York, YO1 6JH. You can find us at the bottom of Micklegate across the road from the Travel Lodge, Casa Brazilian Restaurant and Popworld nightclub.

Q: So, what exactly is a vinyl café?

Adding to York's unique shopping experience, fortyfive Vinyl Café is part café, part record store, part music venue and part bar. Our speciality grilled cheese sandwiches are famous across the city and our fabulous Brazilian coffee is roasted locally. At fortyfive Vinyl Café you can browse our vinyl record collection which includes new and used classic albums, select tracks from our 'free play' jukebox and sit back and enjoy our evening events which provide a wonderful intimate live music experience showcasing both UK based and international artists. We're sure you'll love it here as much as we do!

Q: Can I book a table?

Yes, no problem just give us a call on 01904 437649 and we will be pleased to reserve one for you.

Q: Do you have any jobs going?

Whenever we have jobs going we will advertise from our Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Q: Can I hire you for a private party?

Yes! We've had everything from art events, birthday parties and wedding parties here and at our very competitive rates for a city centre venue, we'd love to see what we can do to assist your plans. Please give us a call on 01904 437649 to discuss in detail.

Q: I have some records to sell, will you take them?

Yes! We'd prefer to take larger collections (50+ records) rather than a handful or the odd one or two. For larger collections it might take a couple of weeks for us to have a good look through before making you an offer but we'd never put anything out for sale before you've received some money! Send Ian an email to ian@fortyfiveuk.com with a list or photos of what you have and he'll get back to you asap.

Q: I'm a musician, can I come play?

Potentially, we aim to have live music weekly and showcase UK and International artists please send an email to ian@fortyfiveuk.com with a link to your music Spotify or YouTube and he'll get back to you with a proposed date or when something comes available.

Q: Who makes your videos?

We have a partnership with the award winning videographer and photographer, Tamography. If you are interested having a showreel of your fortyfive set created, please call Ian directly on 01904 437649 and we will arrange an introduction (subject to availability, price varies depending on exact requirement.

Q: I've got an album out, can I sell it there?

Yes! We have a small but growing collection of independent released (vinyl only) records.

Q: How do I buy tickets to your events?

All tickets are only sold directly via our website and never anywhere else. Please head to fortyfiveuk.com/whatson and click on "Details & Tickets" on the event you'd like to buy tickets for.

Q: I'd like to make a complaint, who do I contact?
